Zoe-perry

Perry was born the 25th of July 1968 in Chicago, Illinois to Laurie Metcalf Perry and Jeff Perry. The character Jackie Harris was played by her mother in both her two appearances on Roseanne. The actress did not go on to explore acting as a profession after reaching the age of adulthood due to her parents being concerned about the adverse consequences stress can cause. Perry was a shy teenager and didn't act. She began acting at Northwestern University to gain friends when she transferred from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University, moved into New York in search of TV roles. Perry was able to land small roles on TV shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness drove her to California in search of theater jobs. The Other Place was performed by her and her mother on Broadway in 2013 Perry was in the show with her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 in the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry played a role in 9 episodes of The Family, an ABC crime thriller The Family in 2016. Perry was also featured in an appearance on ABC's political thriller Scandal with her father. That same year her character was cast the younger character of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again portraying a younger model of the mother's role. She was cast in the role despite her close family connection to the character.
